Unpack
Deliver your new appliance to a room of your choice, unpack it, and install it
Disconnect old appliance
Disconnect your old hob if you’ve chosen our connection service
Remove packaging
Remove and recycle all external packaging
Record
Take photos of the installation for our records
What we need from you
Access
Clear access from your front door to the installation room (this may include moving cars)
Dimensions
Double-check the appliance dimensions to make sure it fits your space
Electric supply
Make sure your electrical supply matches your new hob:
- Over 3kW: 16A or 32A fuse (big
red switch) - Under 3kW: 13A fuse (standard
plug socket)
Check the area
Keep the area around your hob clear from switches, cooker hoods, and flammable materials – there should be at least 65cm clearance above the hob
A few things to know
Gas cookers
We don’t disconnect gas cookers. If you’re switching from gas to electric, a Gas Safe Engineer must disconnect your old appliance first
We don't make changes to your home
We don’t make changes to your home, including doors, cabinetry, pipework or electrics
We might be unable to complete installation
If access is restricted, conditions aren’t safe, the weather is poor, or remedial electrical work is required, we may be unable to complete installation
